Good idea, thanks. Anyway, with Arabic and Sanskrit, I already had you surrounded. If not linguistically, at least geographically. ;)
Happy New Year!

Me again :D
Just want to say that my goal for January is to get through step 1 of my study plan:
- first 20 lessons of Chai and Conversation (1-6 are repetition)
- first 21 Assimil lessons (I'm not reading the explanations, because they're in French)
How about everyone else?
If you also have concrete goals (which could also be things like "do something with Persian 5 times a week or similar): should we make this a challenge? I could find some nice badges for everyone who completes their January goals ;)

Hi!
I like the Cyrus proposal.
These are my goals for January:
- first 10 pimsleur lessons
- first 15 chai and conversation
- first 15 easypersian lessons.
Cool the challenge idea :)
Sorry for brevity but I am using the cellphone :)

Hi everyone! I hope you all got my message about being locked out of this account. It was deactivated when I
updated my email address in my profile, but I am back now and ready to begin.
Any name is really fine with me. Cyrus is good!
Here are my January goals:
-Translate one Persian poem or song into English (20 lines total)
-Complete Living Language Spoken World Farsi lessons 7-10 (one per week)
-Send one email, Facebook message, or Facebook comment to a Persian friend each week
-Do four Persian "word of the week" posts, one each Sunday
I've tried to keep them attainable so I can start off on a positive note and not go too hog wild with studying.

Cyrus it is then!
I think your goals are great, tristano and Élan. They sound both doable and fun and challenging enough already ;)
I guess we'll just keep this thread. I will update the first post soon to make it a little prettier and more functional.

So is everyone good with Team Cyrus as our name? Another option would be to have his name in Persian: Team Kourosh (کوروش).
In any case, here are my January goals:
- Review lessons 1-8 of Spoken World Farsi
- Review lessons 1-21 of Le Persan Sans Peine
- At least 10 episodes of Chai and Conversation
- Take a look at some of the other resources I have lined up (Colloquial Persian, Easy Persian, Persian of Iran Today, etc.)
I promise I'll get my personal log set up soon!

I've updated the first post and made it a little nicer. I haven't been particularly inspired, though. Still tired from reading my thesis for the umpteenth time yesterday :D Thank goodness that's over. If you can think of some more text to lure the other forum members into studying Persian, let me know and I'll add it ;)
