I guess my goals for this year are simple:
-Carry on with Russian, attempting to reach an intermediate level by the end of the year.
-Sit for the Cambridge Proficiency Exam and pass it (my dream would be to get an A like I did in the two previous ones, but I'm realistic and know this particular examination is truly complicated).
-Begin my Portuguese lessons.

I am currently a beginner in Hungarian. I want to reach B1/B2 standard by the end of this year.
I am currently working through FSI, and will travel to Hungary in July.

I just constructed a peculiar idea: Language Learning Month.
Basically, you have NaNoWriMo -- National Novel Writing Month -- which entails writing a 50,000 word or more (Or 50,000 words of a novel without completing said novel) in a month. The basic idea is that you get stuff done when you're feeling competitive.
Okay, so it's gonna be slightly more than a month, but my current goal is to see what I can do with this idea. I'm the only person that's bored/ambitious/brain-damaged enough to try this, though, so so much for the competition aspect of it.
So, more concretely, memorize around the content of 100 pages on the Swedish Wikipedia before mid-April. That's an awful lot, yeah, but last nanowrimo I managed 70,000 words. Besides, I'm a teetotaller, and it's cold out, so it's not like I have anything better to do.
This is, in a sense, part of a larger goal to figure out how I learn best, and how fast I'm capable of memorizing stuff. So, I'm using this as an excuse for trying out a bunch of methods I've heard about but never worked with.

My goal this year is to tackle Korean Proficiency Test level 5/6/7 well, depending on my progress.
Hope everyone get the language they want in this year.

My main goals are to reach fluency in Mandarin by August, and also to continue maintaining/ improving my Japanese aiming for the level of a college-educated native speaker. (Japanese is the language of my heart, and I will probably never stop trying to improve it!) I might work on French too, if I have time.

Janalisa, wish you have great success in Mandarin.
Taiwan is a fairly good place for Japanese speakers too. You can always find people being able to speak Japanese, and it's definitely a good place for learning Mandarin too.

French: Reaching basic fluency by the end of the year.
Italian: Keep practicing by watching TV and sending emails to friends.
German: Intermediate level by the end of the year, please?
I've been flirting with a lot of languages but I have to wait until I get what I want with the ones I'm working on right now. If it turns out how I expect, then I'll be starting Russian and Finnish next year, but that's another thread.
Good luck everyone

Listed below are my goals for 2007:
1) Continue working on my German, and perhaps get to "Advanced Fluency" toward the end of the year.
2) Continue working on my Dutch and Indonesian, and get both of them to "Intermediate" toward the end of the year.
3) Work on Russian as much as possible, and perhaps reach the "Intermediate" stage toward the end of the year.
