Hola

Patrick here. I have to laugh at what you guys are posting. Fortunate for me, I will be laughing all the way to the bank. That's because the results are in and LSLC is now the number one selliing digital downloadable Spanish course on the Net. Keep up the good work fellas!

I just checked Clickbank's results and we just moved to the number one position as the top selling Spanish course. If you don't believe me you can check for yourself at clickbank.com
If you are not familiar with clickbank its the Net's largest seller of digital products. They only sell
digital products on their site.

I guess that saying is really true. I don't remember the exact quote but its something like: "There's no such a thing as bad possibility." Or what's the other one: "nothing sells like controversy"

As I mentioned previously, I am negotiating with a distributor to license LSLC from us. Thanks to you guys, I now have enough bargaining power to tell the company that we want even more money to license the product from us. I'll be sure to send you guys a commission check. Again, keep up the good work.

With that said, I just want to mention again if anyone has any ideas on how I can improve LSLC. Please let me know. I remain totally committed to helping others learn Spanish and learn it as effectively as possible.

Clickbank

It's a whole page of links to crappy websites just like his! What? Do you guys have some kind of "Cheezy Marketing" web template that you all share?

I'm sorry. I can't even think of a response right now.

I think I'm gonna' be sick.

Malcolm,

I can answer that question for you. Presently, Level one covers 32 lessons. About 30 minutes each. Level Two is "under construction"
I am not sure how to answer the question about how much
vocabulary is covered. I can tell you that we cover
more vocabulary than Pimsleurs. Another thing, I didn't
actually create the content for the course. The content
was created by native speakers only. Mainly, people
that I have used as my personal Spanish instructors
at one time or another. My contribution to the course is my very own method of learning that I acquired from years of Spanish self-study.

Although we are not the net's top selling CD course (not yet) the mere fact that LSLC is now the Net's number one selling digital Spanish course confirms the fact that we are now an established and proven Spanish course.

BTW, although we have not officially announced it we have plans to offer free updates to even the customers that buy the CD version of the course. But for all new customers the updates will be made available by digital download. We are constantly trying to improve the course. For example, we had a Colombian speaker on a few of the lessons who spoke too fast for the students. We also had some students from the west coast (US) that wanted to hear Mexican speakers. So we re-recorded those lessons with a native male from Mexico. Now I have read where someone posted that our course narrator whose is not a native English speaker did not pronounce certain words in English too well. For example the word "teeth" sounded like a two syllable word or it sounded like "tee" to one listener. So now we will re-record that part of the lesson, and make the revised version available to our customers by digital download -- free of charge.

The competition can make whatever unsubstantiated allegations they want about our marketing tactics, but
the reality is that there is no course on the Net where the owners are as concerned about the customers learning Spanish as this course. I could spend my whole day posting defamatory statements about my competition on this forum and other forums and spending my entire day monitoring their responses (as my competitors do) Instead, we chose to spend our time improving and revising our lessons, doing teleclasses for our students, emailing grammar lessons (at no additional charge), providing email support from a native instructor to answer our students questions about Spanish, etc. And now we are working on a bonus Video lessons for our students. And no additional charge for the video lessons.

The competition should model us. When you are that committed to serving your customers, its inevitable
that you become the number one selling Spanish course.
On the other hand, when you spend your day neglecting
the people that have given you their hard earned money and instead chose to spend your day attacking someone simply because their company is making more company than
your company, its no wonder why your company is not Numero Uno.

Just as a matter of curiosity, I followed the link heartburn posted. I also found the products being sold there to be less than attractive. What's interesting, though, is that in the section    Index > Society & Culture > Language, Learning Spanish Like Crazy is SECOND to "Instant Eulogy Speeches". I did not make this up. Perhaps a lot of Spanish-speakers are dying whose best friend was an English speaker, and the best friend has to rush to get a pre-written eulogy and learn enough Spanish to deliver it.
This will give you, I hope, a Sunday morning chuckle. Personally, I hope that P. Jackson keeps writing, both for the comedy as well as in the hope that as he reveals his character more, more members of this forum will come to understand why people like me and heartburn are so outraged.
P.S. It looks to me like he's selling FSI's Programmatic Spanish, although from his promotional verbiage it's hard to figure out what he's selling. Later in the click thing he offers Programmatic Spanish Level II for the same price as the original offering under Learning Spanish Like Crazy. It's not clear to me whether he's selling the book or just the audio.

In my effort to stay objective I want to agree with what Patrick has said about the "teeth" lesson. He did re-release a new version of the lesson and it is very good. The first version was very hard to follow.

By the way Patrick, I noticed one day lessons 14 and 15 were also redone for a few days and then removed. Why is this? And why I am asking you, you mentioned you would list a set of products you recommend. I would like you to post that list as it may be benificial to others here. And here is one more quote, to support your cause Patrick, that I heard in highschool about "popularity", "It doesn't mater what they are talking about, as long as they are talking,"

The "Instant Eulogy Speeches" comment was very funy by the way. Well I am off to go do my second passion, second to spanish. I am going to my brazilian Jiu Jitsu workout. I doubt it, but are any other forum members familar with this? Have a good weekend everyone.

With regard to crylant's cynical quote in consolation of PJackson (no offense intended, Crylant), here's another quote: "a decent respect to the opinions of mankind". Can anybody guess where that came from?

Two comments on the LSLC subscription.

1) I didn't know I was signing up for it until I got my
first bill. Apparently they received some complaints
about that practice, because the website says they
won't do that.

2) When I terminated my subscription, I didn't get
access to the four new lessons for the final month I
paid for. The lessons always appeared late, as far as
I could tell. When I sent an email to LSLC support,
saying something like, "I didn't think you would
terminate my account before you posted the four lessons
for the last month I paid for". There was no reply.

I'm not disappointed I was their customer, but I can't
say I'm satisfied with the subscription.

This is starting to sound sensible:
Malcom wrote:
Right now I'd be happy to drop the whole amazon thing and just focus this thread on the actual product. I think we've made our point, so there's no need to rub it in further.

I can't believe that we're actually trying to have a discussion with someone who brags about being placed second to "Instant Eulogy Speeches" in a list of some of the cheesiest websites I've ever seen and expects us to be impressed by that. In fact, those websites have so much in common that I wouldn't be surprised to find out that they were all created by the same person.

Clickbank is the Net's largest seller of digital products? What Net? Clickbank doesn't even make that claim. Just because you type something onto a web page Mr. Jackson, that doesn't make it true. Even regurgitating some hype written by another scammer won't make it true. When I went to school, we had to back those kinds of things up with references and footnotes.

And the constant third-grade reverse psychology of telling us how happy you are that we're giving you bad publicity is really getting old. I stopped playing that game when I was nine. Nobody here is stupid enough to fall for that. Who cares if you're making money Mr. Jackson? Who cares if your sales are going up or down? Don't you realize how transparent that is?

The point that Malcom refers to is, you tried to deceive us.

You're still trying to deceive us.
