Wow, what you've written about the Dominican Republic is so much like it was when I was there. Unfortunately I was only there for about 5 days for my cousin's wedding (no kidding, but the wedding cake had raw eggs in the frosting and it made many people sick, including me).

Do you have some more information on what you think of the LSLC course? Particularly the extra course that's not the FSI one.

Interesting blog.

I haven't been to the Dominican Republic for about 15 years but it's good to know that the power cuts and the insane driving - no way would I ever drive out there -
are unchanged.

Are you still staying in Sosua? That was where we ended up - "los Almendros" I think the hotel was called.

It was still relatively tourist-free then and the guys who worked there had the time and inclination to take our friends and ourselves out to local bars & discos of an evening.

My big regret is my knowledge of Spanish was absolutely zilch apart from a few tourist phrases. In fact I spent more time conversing in German (it hadn't suffered total atrophy at that point) than saying anything in Spanish - it was Italia '90 and the semi-final between England & West Germany was shown live in several bars.

Keep us posted on your Spanish progress.

Andy.

Unit 37 of LSLC FSI doesn't have the audio for the illustrations, person-number substitution, tense construction substitution, response drill or translation drills. (drills 37.21.1, 37.21.11, 37.21.12, 37.12.13). The 37b.mp3 file is about 6 minutes long and should be about 40 minutes.

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to mention here that I've noticed an almost complete lack of questionable reviews of Spanish language learning materials on the Amazon website. I'm not sure if they were removed by Amazon or by the author(s), but it's good.

Also, I've noticed that Mr. Jackson has been writing helpful, thoughtful reviews under his own name and representing himself as the publisher of LSLC in those reviews. Thank you Mr. Jackson. That's everything we could hope for.

But I find it strange that NYC_Trini_Span didn't seem surprised by François' pointed questions. And I wonder if I'm the only one who's noticed that the quality of his posts vary from barely readable to fairly eloquent. I'm convinced that his posts are the work of multiple authors.

Nonetheless, I'm happy to see that Mr. Jackson is presenting himself with more professionalism on the Internet. And I hope that his newfound honesty is rewarded with success.

- mark

Wow! I just noticed that Mr. Jackson gave Mr. Casteel a five star review:

Maybe peace on earth is possible :)

Heartburn, I also have noticed that Don Casteel has removed a very scathing review of LSLC from his website. It was there a month or so ago, and has been removed in the last couple of weeks. Makes a person wonder what transpired between the two of them.

Wow!! I've been acuused of being more than one me. That either scares me or makes me feel good about my writing. I am sorry if you always expect a long drawn out eloquent something to be written but honestly some days i feel like knocking out a quick post, and others i'm in the mood to babble. But its all me for sure.
Please tell me which "pointed" questions from Francois you are referring to.
