Well, yeah, but a lot of them are rubbish and you could in effect spend hours trying to find something interesting. People have already posted some interesting links here.

For those of you interested in German-language podcasts, there are several that are helpful. Deutsche Welle provides many. Of particular interest to students of German would be their "Langsam gesprochene Nachrichten". The principal television broadcasters ARD and ZDF offer their "Tagesschau" and "Heute" news programs as both audio and video podcasts. All of these are available via iTunes.

I've been collecting these for some time now. The are absolutely perfect for me and I hope they work for you too. You have to look them up in iTunes, because for some reason the iTunes doesn't let me copy the link.
French - L'essentiel de l'info d'Europe 1 - great 20 minute news services updated about 4-5 times daily.
Brazilian Portuguese - NW Portuguese news - NHK World Radio Japan - Brazilian Portuguese news from Tokyo, 10 minute blocks uptated many times per day. Great Asian coverage.
Italian - Rai podcast Radio 3 - a little disorganised (compared to the rest) but still a great podcast with many different shows, mainly domestic and foreign political reviews, newspaper commentaries..science, culture and so on.
Dutch - RNW Nieuwslijn : Wereldomroep - FINALLY a news podcast in Dutch that is updated many times per day. 30 minute news segments with transcripts on the homepage. thank you!:-)
Russian - Svobodanews.ru - the absolutely best news podcast out there :-) updated 24 hours a day in one hour blocks every hour. perfect Russian, perfect coverage and discussions with word by word transcripts on the website - a Rusophiles Russian language learner's dream! :-)
German - Die 19 Uhr-Sendung der heute-Nachrichten des ZDF als Video-Podcast - Great German newscast audio or video but updated only once daily every evening after the news air on TV.

For Arabic: www.arabicpod.net
One of the only learn Arabic podcasts I've ever found. I haven't used them extensivly, but they claim to teach a mixture of MSA and the most common dialects so you can be understood anywhere in the Arab world. I would be interested to know if anyone can verify that.
