I decided to do a placement test at the Alliance Francaise. I did a 20 minute conversation with the course director to assess my French skills. After that, she told me it would be best to put me in the B1-B2 class. This is about what I think I am, so was pleased.
did 3 hours at my first Alliance Francaise class last night. I found it really good. I made a couple of slip ups in verb tenses, and found the listening exercise we did quite hard. 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

Congratulations on your placement. What exact level of classes did you take ? E.g. Intermediate 2, Advanced 3.

Did 30 minutes the other night on verb conjugation. Expressions with tenir confused me. Also, learned about "just" e.g. venir + de

Wow, congratulations for all your dedication and hardwork. Its been over a year since you started this thread and you've updated several times and you must speak fairly good French.
If you've posted it already, then could you direct me to the post, if not, could you please tell me why and how you got started on French? I recently developed an interest in the language and am looking forward to taking a couple of semesters in college sometime in the next year or so. Last few months have been hectic. I was engaged in a very time consuming project which took me out of Belgium for some time, so I didn't get as much chance to use my language. the project is now complete, so I'm back to Belgium soon.
Started using anki. I have around 15 sentences in French, covering everything from UFOs to the World Cup to song lyrics. Its going well, done 50 minutes over the past two days. 1 person has voted this message useful |
