Teach Yourself Beginner's Russian is really good, I like the chapters teaching Cyrillic, it doesn't do what a lot of books do and just give you a chart with all the letters and pronunciation; it's actually got exercises so you pick it up gradually.
I haven't read Teach Yourself Russian but it also has good reviews.
Teach Yourself Bengali is good, I can only comment on the chapters on the script because that's how far I got, but it's worth buying it just for that. Colloquial Bengali has good reviews so far, and I plan to get it at some point. In this case, I would recommend getting both, as audio materials are rather scarce for this language.
I only have Teach Yourself Cantonese, but I found it very difficult to work through as a beginner. My advice would be to work through FSI Cantonese before moving onto TY. I used Colloquial Cantonese in an evening class and that was pretty good, but it may be different when using it in self-study.
In either case, both TY and Colloquial throw such ridiculous amounts of new vocab at you in each chapter that you will probably get more out of them when you have a grasp of basic grammar and vocabulary (for example, after having completed FSI).
I normally check out what the reviews on Amazon say before choosing a specific Teach Yourself or Colloquial.
