Exam prep going well. Since October 21st (so for one month) I have been tracking my activites in French, I'm only tracking large chunks of time, I think a minimum of 15 minutes so I don't include the little exchanges or the time spent channel surfing. While the input I recieve at work is benefecial I wouldn't count that as lanuage activity worth noting. So for the last month I've noted down 105.75 hours of study. That's about 3.5 hours per day. I could break it down per language activity but that would too time consuming. I think I've spent the majority of my time with grammar book/ test preperation books and with podcasts. I've also done the last month, approx. 10 exchanges, 2 conversation classes, 5 films, anki, lots of T.V and some Listen-Reading. I hope I can improve a little with the two weeks left before the exam and manage to get 4-5 hours a day of study.
For all you people with itunes/ipod savoir faire, I found a great resource which I thought was strictly available if you paid. You may be familiar with Yabla, yes?, a good number of their videos are on itunes for learners of German, French and Spanish. What makes these videos great is that they have subtitles in your target language and English going at the same time. Just go to the itunes store and search Yabla, it's a video podcast.
I have two days ahead of me now for some intensive study with textbooks. I plan to go to a library to escape all the distrations, i.e; HTAL forum. I have choosen the sections of the textbooks I intend to complete, mainly on pratice writing an essay and a summary. If I manage to complete what I intend to I will be very pleased! I hopefully do 10 hours of study with just books over the next two days.

Thanks for those recommendations Buttons. I'm familiar with 'Allo 'Allo and Catherine
Tate. My dad is a big fan of latter. Here's another language related sketch from her.
It's quite funny.

------------------------------------------
So today I sat 75% of my exam. I have the oral production of the exam in two days. The
exam today had three sections and was over the space of 4 hours. I feel I went quite
well. I think I went quite well because I put in a lot of preparation in the last two
weeks especially.
Section 1- Listening Comprehension.
I feel I did quite well in this section. I understood the first section very well. I
had trouble with the last 4 questions of the last section. I think I would have a score
between 18-21/25 for this section. Better than anticipated
Section 2 - Reading comprehension.
I thought this section was just a little too easy. With one or two exceptions to
questions I didn't answer perfectly I think I did pretty well. I hope marks aren't
given on orthography or the examiner isn't too hard core and I think I'll do well.
Again I think between 18-21/25
Section 3 - Written Production
I spent endless hours preparing for this section of the exam. I have terrible spelling
and often leave out accents and don't accord genders correctly. I hoped a well
structured essay/summary would make up for this.
-The Summary: I had trouble finding a path to direct a good summary. It's all about
restructuring of several texts in a new format. I had trouble in giving a flowing
summary with the ideas separated from one another. I think an average but passable
effort if I didn't make too many spelling mistakes. 7-9/12.5
-The Essay: I can have some serious problems here, I didn't exactly follow the
guidelines for the question. They requested an article in response to a blog. I went
straight out and make an article as if in a newspaper. I just remembered just now that
I also forgot the Title, duh! I also had too many words so I chopped off a good part of
my conclusion. I still think I have too many words. They say for each word over or
under you lose a mark, potentially giving me a 0 for this section. If they don't mark
me on the word count I think I would have a score of 6-8/12.5
SO I think I'm sitting between 70-80% for my results at the moment if they don't mark
my essay too hard. I have the spoken section which I don't I expect to be fantastic by
any means but definitely passable. If I do get between 70%-80% overall I will happy,
but I have to wait to January to find out. I can let out a minor PHEW now. I'll let out
the big one on Friday.
----------------------
I don't feel like doing any study tonight. I have to prepare for the oral production
section. This section like the others requires a knowledge of the procedures to do
well. You have normally have 2 articles total about 1000-2000 words to read. You have
to pick out the essential ideas and find a problematic to develop.
You then have to choose an approach based on the texts i:e
causes/consequences/solutions, fors/against/summary, thesis/antithesis/summary. You
have to have an introduction and a conclusion. You speak between 10-15 minutes.
Initially I was scared by this but I realize that with a plan and with practice with a
video it can sometimes be too little. I don't know how many people I will be presenting
to. I think it's 3 :-8.

75% exam weight off your shoulders today, with only the oral left to go now. :)
Almost there, mate - best of luck on Friday (after which you more than deserve a glass of Pastis this weekend)!
