Here's some podcasts for the language learning section.
Japancast - Learn Japanese language and culture through examples from anime and everyday conversation. 日語自遊行 - 1 & 2 (extra material 1 & 2) - Learn basic Japanese words and phrases for travel and everyday life. Note: Only available in Cantonese. 日語自遊行 - 3 (extra material 3) - Teaches more advanced Japanese words and phrases for travellers. Note: Only available in Cantonese. Nihongo-Juku - Advanced Japanese podcasts with transcripts explaining common difficulties of learning Japanese. Osaka Dialect 大阪弁 - Bilingual podcast explaining Japanese culture and language; with English translations and transcripts on website. Good if you want to get practice listening to a Japanese dialect. Also I'd like to put in a recommendation for Japanesepod101. I know it gets some flack but I found it really useful for improving my listening skills when I was trying to graduate from the beginner stage. The different intermediate levels are really useful, especially as they reduce the amount of English in each stage, so that a lot of the grammar explanations are in Japanese for the intermediate and upper-intermediate stages. For the Foreign Language Section SBS - News reports, children shows, sports reports, dramas, cooking shows, interviews etc. Lots of interesting stuff. Languages available: Albanian, Arabic, Armenian, Assyrian, Bangla, Bulgarian, Cantonese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dari, Dutch, Fijian, Filipino, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Gujarati, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Khmer, Korean, Kurdish, Lao, Latvian, Macedonian, Maltese, Mandarin, Nepali, Norwegian, Persian-Farsi, Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Romanian, Russian, Samoan, Serbian, Sinhalese, Slovak, Somali, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, Vietnamese, Ukrainian, Urdu, Yiddish 3 persons have voted this message useful | |||

Thanks for this wonderful compilation! I'm a big fan of learning languages with iPod! I have some useful links, too. You can find the mentioned podcasts via iTunes or under the URL I posted. All podcasts are for free, extra material is free too (in contrast to the Pod101-series, where extra material costs extra). (1) Guarani (2nd official language of Paraguay): Name: "Guaranime" (by a native US-English speaker) - Language: English - Website: http://letstalkguaranime.blogspot.com/ (2) Swedish: Name: "Sprich mal Schwedisch" - Language: German (by a native Swedish speaker) - Website: http://www.sprichmalschwedisch.com/ (PDF-files on the site). (3) Japanese: "Japanisch Podcast" (by a native Japanese speaker) - Language: German - Website: http://www.jpodcast.de/ (PDF-files on the site). (4) Russian: "Russisch lernen mit Russland-Journal" - Language: German - Website: http://www.russlandjournal.de/podcasts/ (lots of ad, but free) #4 is a great complement to Russian lessons and the broadcasters are very constant. #3 is not bad, since Sana (the teacher) speaks slowly. #2 is IMHO not very helpful for absolute beginners, but perfect for exercising listening and speaking (repeating). Joakim (the teacher) points out differences between written and spoken language, and there are different episode-categories (lessons, alphabet and culture). #1 is quite basic, and interesting for those who have never heard about Guarani.
