Time for the daily updates...
TTACers: 48
ITACers: 6
Total Participants: 54
Teams: 16
Arabic [3], Chinese [3], Dutch [3], English [2], Esperanto [2], French [3], German [4], Greek [3], Italian [4], Japanese [3], Polish [2], Russian [4], Scandinavian [2], Spanish [4], Turkish [2], Team KEN [4]
For the Scandinavian Team I've combined the learners of Norwegian and Danish (and possibly a Swedish learner will join too) together, because there isn't quite enough interest for a team for each language individually.

If you are wishing to participate in a 2011 TAC Challenge but don’t see your name on one of these lists, please announce your participation in this thread. If you notice any errors at all, please point them out to me and I’ll fix them right away. Also note that unless you specifically say otherwise, I will add you to the TTAC list.
Specific Concerns:
akprocs – Would you like me to include you on the Scandinavian Team? So far we have one learner of Norwegian and one learner of Danish, so you could complete it by being the learner of Swedish. :)

Wow, what a Dream Team! I'll definitly join the fan club and buy a season ticket! What I've read of your logs for this year has certainly been both impressive, inspiring and entertaining. So thanx a lot and all the best for next year!
As for my humble self, I will try to mend my ways and make a comeback for next year's TAC in some shape or form. So far I know I'm going to study Russian, French and modern Greek. More details to come.

Okay, I'm going to take the plunge and post the team assignments so far. They seem to be getting closer and closer to a final version (fewer changes are taking place than before), so is fitting to reveal the teams so that we can all work out some of the final knots together. Please, if you are unhappy with your current team assignment for any reason, just leave a message here or send a PM to me, and I'll try to work out a solution. With that in mind, here is the current list of 2011 TAC Teams...
Arabic: marvelgirll, Quabazaa, Préposition
Chinese: Whitefish (M), jimbo (C), Li Fei (M)
Dutch: noriyuki_nomura, Shokhn, J S
English: rob4languages, Kuikentje
Esperanto: Lianne, LittleBoy
French: Cetacea, ReneeMona, Persona
German: JPike1028, troglodyte, gizmo2012, lerner
Greek: Alpha, Kerrie, aloysius
Italian: magictom123, Oasis88, diabolo menthe, Lapislazuli
Japanese: ellasevia, Luai_lashire, g-bod
Polish: thephantomgoat, ruskivyetr
Russian: Solfrid Cristin, handfulofkeys, nogoodnik, garyb
Scandinavian: Ncruz (N), Jaynie (D)
Spanish: Monte_Cristo, Vos, nuriayasmin, amber5499, canada38
Turkish: Sierra, Przemek
Team KEN: Adrean, Buttons, M. Medialis, Teango
The parenthesis after the participants of the Chinese and Scandinavian Teams indicate which language they are pursuing (M = Mandarin, C = Cantonese; N = Norwegian, D = Danish).
Also, here is a possible list of team names. I think that the theme this year (after speaking with a couple other collaborators) is going to be a special letter or character that is (somewhat) unique to the language of the team. If you are on a specific team and have a preference for its name, don't hesitate to put forth a vote, either here or via PM!
Arabic: Team ش (or ع, ق, ك, ظ, etc.)
Chinese: Team 漢 (or 中, or some other significant character)
Dutch: Team IJ (or Ë)
English: Team X (since English uses no diacritics and X is not commonly used in other languages)
Esperanto: Team Ĵ (or Ĉ, Ĝ, Ĥ, Ŝ, Ŭ)
French: Team Œ (or Û, Ï, etc.)
German: Team ß (or Ä, Ö, Ü)
Greek: Team Ω (or Δ, Θ, Λ, Ξ, Σ, Φ, Ψ, etc.)
Italian: Team Ò (or Ì, Ù)
Japanese: Team あ (or お, ぬ, ね, etc.)
Polish: Team Ł (or Ą, Ć, Ę, Ń, Ś, Ź, Ż)
Russian: Team Ж (or Я, Ю, Ы, И, Э, Щ, etc.)
Scandinavian: Team Ø (or Æ or Å; only Å if Swedish is included)
Spanish: Team Ñ
Turkish: Team Ğ (or Ç, İ, Ş, etc.)
...and Team KEN already has a name, of course.

How about 唐 (Tang second tone in Mandarin, Tong, fourth tone in Cantonese) for the Mandarin and Cantonese Chinese team?
Tang, as in the dynasty, not the orange juice substitute breakfast drink.
I'll be trying to use Tang poetry to help me learn Cantonese. It is helpful for those learning Mandarin too. (My Mandarin teachers mixed in Tang poetry from time back in the day...)

Hope I'm not too late to the party. Followed the 2010 TAC at times, and would love to participate in the 2011 TAC.
Goals are:
German: B1 to C1
French: A1 to B1
Russian: - to B1
Thanks!

Sierra
I would like to join a German Team TAC.
I am guessing I am about B2 Level and hoping for a C1/C2 Level.
It would be great if you could place in 2011 TAC.
Well done on the organising. It is appreciated.
Paul
