Hi everyone. In this journal I'll be keeping (or at least make an attempt to do so) a log of my progress in the following languages:

German
Current Level : C1
Aim : reach the C2 level. Acquire vocabulary beyond the technical field. Increase active vocabulary. get a hang of the colloquial language.
Resources : A children's encyclopedia for a basic vocabulary in a wide range of subjects. At least a couple of novels. Scientific literature for acquiring more technical vocabulary.

Spanish
Current Level : 0
Aim : Reach basic fluency with a decent active vocabulary
Resources : FSI Basic Spanish (it's the only course that seems to work for me). Once i'm done with it, I'll be moving on to native material. For the moment, I'll be concentrating only on FSI

Mandarin or Czech
Current level : 0 in both (though I've played around with the 4 tones in mandarin a bit)
Aim : A2 would be a feasible goal I think. Though B1 by the end of the year would be perfect.
Resources : Again, as with Spanish, I'll be beginning with FSI/DLI and then move on to native material.
At the moment I've not reached a decision as to which language I'll learn. I expect to reach a decision by the end of March and start in April.

Good luck to everyone with their 2011 TAC goals.

Cheers

Things really haven't really got off to a promising start this year as far as language learning is concerned. I hope to be able to put in some time this weekend but things look rather bleak at the moment.

@ Anya
I won't be using any specific material for technical vocabulary. My studies at the university are in German and I'll basically be concentrating on the course books as the primary source for vocabulary acquisition.

We all fall off the wagon sometimes!

Keep the Faith and I look forward to reading about your progress soon.
