It didn't work out with that Russian guy I was talking about, but strangely enough I've met another Russian guy, Yuri, who I like even more. I don't know how all of these Russians suddenly came out of the woodwork, but I'm quite happy about it.

Well, being young and single has its advantages. :-) I am in a life phase right now, where taco and a movie with the kids is my favourite sort of Friday evening. Really nice, though not really productive for my Russian...

Well that's awfully convenient ;). Let's hope he doesn't find out you only like him for his language... haha, kidding.
Good to see you're keeping up with your studying.
L'étranger is one of the only french novels I actually read all the way through. Besides the Harry Potter series of course. I quite enjoyed it.
Any good Russian TV shows you can recommend?

Cristina: I'm trying to get to your life phase right now. Tacos and kids sounds great. Unfortunately for an introvert like me, this involves dating. Speaking of which, it didn't work out with Yurik either :( I guess I will stick to dating Israelis for awhile because I seem to get along with them better for some reason.
Geordie: Yay you are back!!! You are a guy right? I've been watching a show about some ladies in a beauty shop talking about their clients' trials and triumphs with love. It's entertaining in a cheesy way but there is no way I could recommmend this to a guy or really anyone.
I'm actually thinking of rereading L'étranger but this time while listening to the corresponding audio. I loved that book.
Oh right, so I'm still reading "La Vie Devant Soi," which I love. I've decided to review Using French. I'm also watching dubbed French episodes of "Absolutely Fabulous." I'm watching the Israeli version of Survivor which has turned out to be surprisingly boring. Usually watching Israelis in the wild is funny. I haven't done much with Yiddish today but I'm in the mood today.

haha. you are wholeheartedly welcome. I wasn't sure that I wanted to admit what I was watching in the first place.
I had an hour long conversation with an Israeli lady yesterday in Hebrew that gave me a pretty good idea of where I am in the language. I speak fluently but I still occasionally have to look for words and I sometimes make gender mistakes when I'm not thinking about it. So I'm pretty pleased but there is still a lot of work to do. I should be able to reach my goal by the end of the year. I need to activate more passive vocabulary and learn more words in general.

Cristina: thanks! I think that we are probably at about the same level in Russian though.
Basically I've been watching tons of TV and other forms of media but have not been doing enough studying. Besides doing something in each of my target languages daily, I'm trying to come up with another short term goal to make me feel like I'm making progress.
