Hi handfulofkeys,
some corrections/suggections:
"потому что я не так много с русском языкам делал в зтой неделе" - "потому что я не так много занимался русским языком на этой неделе"
"но нет на русском" - "но не на русском"
"Зто все для сегодню" - "это все на сегодня"
"потому что мне нет времини" - "потому что у меня нет времени"
"Мне ножно изучать" - "мне нужно учиться"

успехов,
Аня

I don't have time to reply in Russian (it's very late and I need to go to bed!) but that's really helpful. I knew those sentences "sounded" wrong (which is a good sign, I guess) but I couldn't figure out what to do with them. Болшое спасибо, Аня!

So today wasn't a bad day, all things considered. I spent about an hour and a half listening to Russian, all told. I did more, but a lot of that time, I was trying to teach myself to parallel park so I wasn't giving it my full attention. And I'm thinking that if I do an hour and a half of solid listening, plus my anki every week day, I should make steady improvement. I'm thinking I'll do my text-based grammar/formal study on Friday night and saturday. For those of you not in the know on Jewish traditions, I'll fill you in. Observant Jews don't use electricity between sundown friday and sundown saturday, so I'll use that time to learn to read and write. As Anya no doubt noted, my spelling is awful, probably because my method is so input-based.

Tomorrow, my goal is two hours of solid listening, and actually doing anki. I've been neglecting it, and of course, that just makes it worse by the day... *sigh*. We'll see if I manage it!

Gnight, y'all!

(to my teammates: sorry I haven't posted on your logs much/at all yet. I've been mega busy, I promise I'll get to it soon!)

Not much new to report. I did my hour and a half today, as promised, but nothing more. I didn't even get to Anki at all which is really bad. On the bright side, though, I did learn a couple of new words that I've already forgotten! But having learned them once usually means by the 2nd or 3rd time I hear them they'll stick!

Also, I ordered a Russian reader from Amazon. The only things I have to read are either way too easy or way too hard, so it'll be nice to have something that's more at my level.

See you tomorrow!

I usually do at least my Anki cards every day, even if it's the only thing that I do. The prospect of me digging through the heap of cards that piled up during my inactivity is enough to get me going.

Yeah, that's smarter than what I do, I suppose. I dunno, I always feel much less productive doing Anki than actually listening/watching real live Russian stuff. But then again, real live Russian stuff doesn't increase in size every time I neglect it...

Another pretty okay day today. I did my hour and a half, and even enjoyed it! I watched Spirited Away (one of my favourite movies) dubbed. I wish I could find more stuff like that! I've also found that I'm much less bored and more productive if I do something with my hands while I listen. To that end, I've taken up the manly art of knitting. I already made my girlfriend a scarf which, after she had finished laughing at me, she said was very nice! Hey, maybe I'll come out of this year with two new skills!

But yeah, I've really gotta get on the anki, and maybe work my way up to 2 hours a day, at least on days without crazy amounts of homework...

See y'all tomorrow!

Is that 2 hours total, or 2 hours of Anki. Because that would be very brave of you... (and probably not 4 times as efficient as a 1/2 hour)

Oh man, I haven't posted in quite a while. To be honest, I completely forgot about my log! I apologise, team-mates! Fortunately though, while I have forgotten about my log, I haven't forgotten about Russian. Last week I didn't really do as much as I would have liked because of schoolwork and the fact that I got pretty sick, but I didn't ever have a day where I did nothing so it wasn't too bad. This week, I'm back to my hour and a half a day plus Anki. And to answer Joanthemaid, I meant 2 hours total.

I feel that I'm progressing, although slowly. I can definitely think of words I know now that I didn't know a month ago, but the list isn't anything massive. If I continue at this rate, I'll have improved considerably by the end of the year, but I will certainly not be anywhere near fluent, and that's not acceptable to me. So it seems that I have two choices. I could either increase my rate of formal study; do more grammar, reading and writing exercises. This would probably help, so long as I keep to my regular listening schedule too. Orr I could go the AJATT route, and try to make it so that I'm using all of my free time to do Russian. I like this better, but it's way harder to implement because of the sheer amount of stuff in English I have to do (I'm a history major in a university that assigns a LOT of reading).

Argh, I'm a little frustrated, but I shall keep going! At least I'm progressing! I am certainly understanding more and more of my TV shows and movies.

By the way, is there anyone who knows of any Animes that have been translated into Russian with full dubs (not just voice-overs). I find them really helpful, and I like the length of them. If anyone knows of any, I'd really appreciate it, I'm on my third time watching Death Note!

I'll try to get back to posting every day, and try to post some more in Russian. Sorry for neglecting the log!

Darkwing Duck was dubbed and aired as Чёрный Плащ. I saw some episodes on video.mail.ru. Plus I was told by a couple people that it's easy to download all sorts of movies on vkontakte.ru.
