Hi, I'm here to learn Spanish. I've got very basic knowledge of it but am hoping to go all the way to fluency
(hopefully by the end of this year. I don't know if that is reasonable). I found this site and want to keep track
of my progress. To learn, I've bought a frequency dictionary, a flashcard app, a copy of El País from my
supermarket, a book on grammar and a phrasebook. I've also downloaded loads of Spanish news onto my
iPod. If you have anyother advice, please let me know.

Good luck James. I have been doing Spanish for a little while over a year now and I was very happy with Michel Thomas and Assimil Spanish With Ease. I would highly recommend both.

¡Hola James29 y Buttons! Muchas gracias. I'll look out for those, although they do seem slightly over my
budget. I'm sure I'll be able to find some cheaply though.
I've also set my iPod to Spanish so I can learn vocabulary with minimum effort.

I'm quite impressed by how much I can pick up from reading a newspaper and flashcarding. I'm starting to be able to read small parts of sentences and sometimes whole ones with ease. I'm following the Michel Thomas intro course when I'm walking and after those two hours, I'll start with Paul Noble Spanish (because it's cheap). It's apparently a lot like Michel Thomas.

Okay, I'm no loner going to go with any of those courses because I don't concentrate enough. The problem
is I don't seem to think in a consecutive way. I like to approach things from all angles. So now, I'm going to
crack on with El País and SBS radio podcast.

I've been doing all I've said and now I am going to read my frequency dictionary. All the unknown words, I'm going to make flashcards from them.

Okay, I haven't updated in a while but soon I am to do a post written in just Spanish, so you can judge my efforts. I have found a site called LingQ which is really helping (I wonder if I can put my banner on this site) and also a site called Lenguajero, which I have yet to try out. Here is a link to LingQ:
