in the Hispanic world, "Boquete" is a narrow and less longer street....in Brazil it is a slang for oral sex.

I was at Christmas at my French Canadian girl-friends family. A drunken uncle who was clearly xenophobic came at me with an agressive question about my presence there. He wanted to know why I was living in Quebec (chez-nous) when I have my own country (chez-toi). I just wanted to say "I live here because I can", but with my prononciation it sounded to everone in the room as if I said "parceque je pu" (Instead of the extremely similarly pronounced "parceque je peux") It means "because I stink". He was like "What?" and I repeated it exactly the same as the first time. My girl-friend had to correct me. It was unpleasent.

This thread has been hijaked into mismeanings and not humerous stories.

There are 1000's. Even Canadian Englsih to Australian English causes misunderstandings (like the brand "Roots"). And that is before the Argentinian Spanish of the uses of "cojer" and "concha"

Lets keep this to humourous stories, can we? Not just rude words in one language that are normal words in another. Where is the funniness?
