Hi Alex, I just discovered your log. I've only just begun learning Catalan myself in a university course, so I'm glad to know someone else around here is studying it too, although you're far more advanced than I am.
I have a question for you about Welsh: in Wales, do people who come from Welsh-speaking households and people who come from English-speaking households have identical accents (when speaking English)? Or can you tell when they begin to talk which language they've grown up with? 1 person has voted this message useful | |

You can nearly always tell the difference =) There's a Welsh accent for people who are English speakers and a
Welsh accent for people who are second-language English speakers. As for me, given that both my parents spoke English and never learnt any Welsh and that I've consequently spoken English all my life my accent is actually very English-sounding i.e. people think I'm English as I don't have the typical accent of South Wales. 1 person has voted this message useful | |

Hola Alexander, com va el teu català? Pot que t'agradi el curs d'Assimil ("El català sense esforç"). No sé si l'has provat, però és molt bo i te'l recomano (és per a castellanoparlants).
