I just did a little bit of "Kartuli ena dedastan ertad". I learned about putting on
clothes and being in the street. Now I need to rest my brain a little, so I will go watch
some Georgian and Russian tv. Maybe I will study more later. :)

As you can see, I'm finally going through chapter 10 of Aronson, the one about this
perfect series I keep hearing so much about. ;)
It's a lot to take in. I think I'm going to read this chapter many times...I don't
understand why he decided to explain all the conjugations before he even explains
how/when they are used. What's the point of knowing how to conjugate a verb when you
won't even know when to use it? But it's no big deal, I just have to jump around a
little bit. I'm glad I'm finally on this chapter. I've been seeing these kinds of
conjugations a lot lately and have had no idea what they mean.
Edit: I finished the chapter (except for the exercises, which I'll do later). It's very
confusing how he mixes the present perfect and the pluperfect in the same chapter. It
would be better if they each had their own chapter or if they at least were separated.
It goes back and forth and I forget which one is which... |

I couldn't agree more with every point of what you wrote, zecchino. I, too, have noticed those big flaws at Aronson's and wish this topic had been presented on a different manner, in different chapters and with more explanations on usage before presenting conjugation charts. That's why I liked to take a look at Parlons Géorgien and armazi.co.uk/georgian, and will check Tschenkéli's book to see how he had apprached this topic.

I just read the story "The Round Table" from Contemporary Georgian Fiction. Now I'm
reading it in Georgian. It shouldn't be too hard, since it's very short and uses pretty
simple language. And it's a very cool story!

Don't you think it spoils the fun when you read in English first? =D
zecchino, what about the TAC 2013? We could set up a Georgian team or join a team of rarer languages.

No, it would be way too hard to read it in Georgian first. I struggle even with the English version in my hand
and a dictionary! And plus I wouldn't enjoy the story as much if I couldn't understand it. :)
But I will save some to read in Georgian first once I get better!
And yes we should definitely start a TAC team! :D

Then you should reply to the sticky TAC 2013 thread and say we're going to start a team! Which other languages will you be taking?

Georgian, Russian, Chinese and Norwegian apparently. But I'd join two teams at most.
