omfg I never checked this thread but based on what I do know, I think I'll love these:)
as a fellow learner of Danish, would you recommend anything in this language? with male clean vocals especially. (my faves from this list are Korpiklaani and Finntroll, seen both live and they were fantastic<333)

Ahh, lucky you! I hope to see Finntroll sometime soon :P
Unfortunately I have heard close to nothing sung in Danish, save for Svartsot (male
grunts) and Lumsk (female clean vocals). I'm pretty sure there is a lot of music out
there sung in Danish, but in the case of heavier music (metal) it becomes difficult to
find unless it's of the folk/black/death style (usually shrieks/grunts).

I'll do my research.

These are fanmixes for a football community. It had to be somehow related to football :DDD The first link is like the stuff in this thread, folk metal and also power metal. The second link is more about melancholy/gothic metal - or at least somewhat dark. My mum likes many of these though, so it's not too heavy either! :P

She's not a band, and she's definitely not in the same metalish genre as most of the songs in this post (she quite pop-oriented), Medina sings mostly in Danish.

Personally, I like her whole back story.

I still cannot find anything with clean vocals in Danish, but since you're learing German, Spanish and Dutch, you should try these:
Feuerschwanz
Mago de Oz
Heidevolk

Here are my 3 favourite songs of each of those bands:
Heidevolk - Hulde aan de kastelein
Heidevolk - Het bier zal weer vloeien
Heidevolk - Saksenland
Feuerschwanz - Meister der Folter
Feuerschwanz - Latte
Feuerschwanz - Wunsch ist Wunsch
Mago de Oz - Molino de viento
Mago de Oz - Que el viento sople a tu favor
Mago de Oz - El atrapasueños

I could see why it would be a problem to find music by Danish bands for someone outside
of Denmark, especially since lots of bands sing in English. Nevertheless, I gave it
some thought and here are some of the songs I could think of. I went for rock music,
which will be basically anything from laid back 60's psych rock to a couple of metal
songs and what not. I'll also add a little comment for some of the groups.

Gasolin is probably the msot well-known rock group in Denmark of all time. Their lead
singer, Kim Larsen, is also a major musical icon in Denmark.

Volbeat is a metal group with a bit of rockabilly thrown in for good measure. They
normally sing in English, but they made a song with some Danish in it, which is the one
I posted here.

Magtens Korridorer is a garage rock band or what you may call it. Their lead singer is
also the guy singing in Danish on the Volbeat track alongside their singer.

Ok, not much to say here. Barcode play hardcore, Hatesphere thrash metal or something
like that (here on a tribute to their local football team, AGF), and Red Warszawa play
a sloppy kind of heavy metal/comedy rock that fits well with their crude textual
universe which can go anywhere from amusing to slightly offensive. It's no wonder that
most of their fans are/were mostly teenage boys (including me about 10 years ago).

Ok, these groups mostly play psychedelic rock and progressive rock, and are mostly from
the 60's and 70's. The one most worthy of mention are Steppeulvene, the quintessential
hippie band, named after Hermann Hesse's novel, Der Steppenwolf. Their lyrics tend to
revolve around things such as going to India on flying carpets and so on. Povl Dissing
is mostly known for playing in a more singer/songwriter style, but did collaborate with
some rock and blues groups in the 60's and early 70's. "Herfra Hvor Vi Står" is also a
classic song of this period. Røde Mor were a group of people who belonged to the Danish
far left (they were officially Maoists at one point), who decided to make music as
well. Textually, it's clearly inspired by their message, but musically, it can be quite
all right from time to time.
