Would anyone be interested in a short-term challenge next weekend, making up for Europe's switch to Daylight Saving Time?
I got the idea from WriYe where they have a lot of challenges for aspiring writers. I think some of them are worth trying here, with our own tweaks. (For example Full Moon Madness).
Over there, it's about writing 10,000 words in 5 hours. Do we need a standard goal or can they be custom? (X hours, Y pages, Z Assimil lessons...) Should there be a minimum of time spent?
If we do this challenge, we have about a week to decide the specifics.
Edit: Anyone would be welcome to participate, whether you're from Europe and indeed lose an hour or just want to have fun:) We no longer even have daylight saving in Russia - I'll be celebrating being closer to Europe :D (Champions League football starting at 22.45 is SOOOO much better than at 23.45)

Since that will be in the middle of the Tadoku challenge, I am sorry that I will have to pass on this one, but if you ask again in April I may be up for it :-)
Extremely interesting concept though!

You can set a reading goal and combine it with Tadoku :) I will for sure:)
I was thinking about Full Moon Madness on April 6th. It's a Friday though. The idea is just to study as much as possible over 24h. Would be very motivating if those who are in described their day, showing how exactly they had made the time for studying.

If I can find a day to do this (some Sunday probably) I will do it maybe. Does FMM require it to be a day on which there is a full moon? (Do I dress up as a werewolf?)
But I won't be blasting Moonspell while doing it...

FMM yes, from 00:00 to 23:59 on the day of the full moon. You can just study as much as possible given your circumstances:)
But what about the next weekend, any preferences/ideas? :)
Aww Moonspell. Why not? I'll be probably reading Ribeiro's books at full moon :D

Because I cannot listen to music and study at the same time, else I would have done it...(and I have yet to learn Portuguese, which is on my list...it's nothing against that great Portuguese band)

So, is anyone up for this?
My goal is: listen to all chapters of Assimil Portuguese over the weekend. I'll also read them because they count for Tadoku, and I might shadow them.
There's also the Earth Hour on March 31, 2011 at 8:30pm-9:30pm your time. I'm thinking of doing something suitable, but I can't be bothered to read by candle light :P
(BTW would anyone be interested in a dare thread? Suggesting random ideas like "translate this passage into your target language" (not your homework!) or "play this song on lyricstraining" etc etc etc.
Also decided to make our team's consistency thread open for all learners of Slavic and Romance languages.

Went ahead and started something like a dare thread :D
So, is anyone interested in Full Moon Madness? :)
If not I have another idea :p How about a motivational thread for describing your good days as a learner? (starting too many threads, who?)
You choose yourself on what day to do a massive amount of study and you describe it afterwards. Can be a special day like full moon, your birthday, the first&last day of 6WC, Tadoku etc or just any random day. I think many of us will be especially interested in posts describing how exactly you combine work/study with languages.
edit: I failed the DST challenge btw. Listened to just 25 Assimil lessons - still more than I ever did at a time though!
