Hey,
I've been considering starting this log for a while and I think that now it's high time
to begin. I wanted to take part in 6 weeks challenge but unfortunately I couldn't
register with Norwegian, I'm not sure why. But it's another reason for starting this
log. My goal is to reach a decent level of the language in question by June/July 2013
(probably B2 or higher)due to the fact that I'm planning to take an exam. I started
learning Norwegian 26 days ago and I managed to study every day =)Sometimes it's hard
to be motivated but I hope that this log will come in handy so that I'll keep track of
my progress. I also think that it'll be another source of motivation.
I also want to share my experience with other people who are currently learning
Norwegian or any other language.
So here we go :P
What I did today:
Revision of all units that I've covered so far.
Listening to Norwegian songs. Here is a link to one of them:

I picked this one for a reason; the lyrics are quite easy to follow so after 3-4 weeks
of studying I was able to understand it. I recommend it to people who have already
started learning Norwegian.
regards! :)

Hello to a fellow enthusiast of Norsk :)
What materials do you use? I currently try to plough through 'Vil du lære norsk' by Stanisław Łęcki which is about the only worthwhile Polish-based coursebook I've managed to find. I also use Memrise for vocabulary practice and watch Norwegian films - I understand a tiny bit of dialogues but somehow I just like the sound and 'flow' of this language.
I'll follow your log with great interest.
Powodzenia!

Hei!:)
I mainly use eskk kurs norweskiego :) I found it on the internet and it's pretty good.
It's a self-study textbook so everything is explained, all grammar issues and so
one..BTW, it's in Polish. I can send you links if you want. I've heard of "Vil du laere
norsk" but I haven't had a chance to have a look at it yet. I also have a book entitled
"Norsk for utlendinger" but I don't focus on this one so much because the whole book is
in Norwegian and currently my level is not that high. I mean I can manage with first
chapters but it takes me too much time to do the translations. How long have you been
learning Norwegian?:)
I've never heard of Memrise, what's that?:)

Memrise is one of a countless number of flashcard programs used to help you memorise
stuff. They're quite handy, in fact!
Og det er alltid morsomt å se at det finnes folk der ute som vil lære norsk! Lykke til
videre!

Well, I've been dabbling with Norwegian for far to long and this needs to change in the near future. I have to devise a routine for this language and listen a lot cause that is the trickiest part for me. I think that the fact that my German is pretty decent helps me understand more than I deserve to, given my lack of systematic dedication.
Memriseis a tool for memorising vocabulary, Anki-like website where people place word lists for many languages, it's engaging. It uses the concept that our memory is like a garden where we plant new flowers/words and water them by revising, try it :) I currently use it for Spanish and wanted to use it for Welsh but since the decks rarely have Welsh audio I resigned for the time beeing.
'Vil du laere norsk' is packed with vocabulary with IPA transcriptions that always a great help for me.

In that case I'll definitely check out Memrise. Maybe it'll be helpful in my case because
sometimes I feel like getting lost with vocabulary.
Stifa, tusen takk. Jeg synes norsk er et interessant språk. Jeg elsker å høre på norsk
musikk og jeg håper jeg vil vite lyrics en dag :P

Ah, ok so Memrise is similar to Anki. I rarely use this device because I see it as a
little bit time consuming but I'm not saying is not useful. Although I don't think it'll
work for me. So Gosiak wish you good luck with your Norwegian:)

Hi again.
I didn't update my log for few days but anyways I was studying Norwegian. I covered 2
chapters so now I'm about to start the 12th one (my textbook consists of 40 chapters). I
try to review the covered material so that it somehow stays in my mind. Another thing
that I do is practicing speaking. I read dialogues aloud (sometimes many times until I
think my pronunciation is more or less ok). Actually it's the 29th day of my studies and
after that time I can say that my motivation is still high and I see a progress. I've
been studying everyday so far, sometimes for 3-4 hours a day, and I'm quite satisfied
with it. I'm thinking of starting conversations with native speakers but I'm not sure if
it's not too soon because it happens that I lack words :P It's really hard to come up
with some words but when I see them on paper I know the meaning, the most difficult part
is to recollect vocabulary in the right moment. But maybe it'll come with time.
