Schoenhof's currently has reduced prices on some (not all) of their Assimil products, good through 12/31.

How is it that you people manage to place orders with this store? Despite their abysmal service and dysfunctional website, their prices are so tempting I've tried everything under the sun on several occasions to order form them, all to no avail.
For some reason my credit card -which works everywhere else- wasn't being processed correctly by their site so I went to the trouble of obtaining a virtual pre-paid one - which of course won't work either. I get the following error from Firefox when I try to place my order:
I've ordered from countless bookstores from around the world - this is the only one from which I've been unable to do so no matter what I do. Contacting them also is useless since either they don't reply or if they do, they write a generic and unhelpful response. Perhaps this is God's way of letting me know I've already spent too much on Assimil courses this year? 2 persons have voted this message useful | |||

Sorry to hear you're having so much trouble. I was planning to try placing an online order soon, but I haven't done
so before--I'll report back. If you think it would make the difference though, I might be able to go talk to someone at the store in person, since I live relatively close (note: we're expecting a big snow storm tonight, which could potentially complicate matters). PM me if you would like to discuss. Also: double check the ISBN of anything you try order, people, as they are very sloppy in matching titles and cover shots correctly! 2 persons have voted this message useful | |||

I'm giving it a shot. The ISBN matches a CD+book back. If that is the case, it is a very good deal.

Yep, I just ordered three Assimil courses with text and audio, it appears, and for about what it would cost me
