English version:
This thread is aimed at anybody learning Japanese in HTLAL.
How about a game of shiritori?
It's a very simple game, and it's wonderful to improve one's vocabulary and kanji ranges.
The rules consist on using the last syllable (meaning the last kana) on the prior person's word to start the next.
So it works out like this:
Kitsune → nezumi → mikake・・・
Normally, in shiritori the game ends when somebody says a word ending in N (ん) (as there are no words that start with it in Japanese), so to allow the game to go on, whenever somebody writes a word ending in it, use both the last and second-to-last syllables to make your word.
Nezumi → mikan → kanji・・・
To make it more interesting and allow for players of all levels to participate, let's make it so not only words but sentences are accepted as well. It opens the game to all levels, and allows for those who want to step it up to try and create new sentences.
Kanji → jitensha ni notte kaerimashita → tanjun na hito desu・・・
If possible, write an English translation under the sentence (for those who might not understand yet). You may write a transcription in romaji as well if you want, but this is optional.
Lastly, please try to always use hiragana/katakana and kanji (unless the system you're using doesn't allow for them). If you do it only in romaji, it might inconvenience those who want to learn kanji.
----
Here is the first sentence:
⇒ 猫は箱の中に寝ている (neko wa hako no naka ni neteiru)
The cat is sleeping in the box.
