I don't qualify, and I don't have time this month. It's a bit crazy, with work and a
wedding. I'll still be happily studying and reading though.

I intend to enter the next Tadoku Challenge with Russian again. This one went really
well.

Nope. I'm still in with Russian. :)

Edit: Oh wait, I just realized you're talking about the 6wc. That's what I get for not reading the earlier posts.
Anyway, i'm not doing it this time because I'm going out of town and then I'm gonna have much more
important things to think about. But I'll probably participate next time with Russian!

Congratulations to everybody who completed the January challenge! The successful participants are:

Zerzura
renaissancemedi
geoffw
Josquin
Emme
chokofingrz
Cristianoo
YnEoS
milesaway
Solfrid Cristin

Unfortunately, I'm not able to keep track of our challenges in the opening post, so I will probably summarize all challenges in a special post at the end of the TAC.

As for the February challenge: I haven't really got a good idea yet, but let me think about it another day. Or maybe one of you has got a brilliant idea? If so, please post it here or send me a PM!

Maybe something with poetry? There are many famous Russian poets. Or watch a Russian
cartoon series and report back about it? I'd happily watch every Cheburashka episode ever
made, and probably will regardless. :D (I have a slight obsession with the creature.)
Or we could all learn a song (no singing required).

I don't know. Sorry.

One of the "small challenges" suggested last year was "Describe your best friend". That should be easy to
adapt to all our different levels.

Thanks for your input, milesaway and Cristina! Considering the fact that we already had a writing challenge in January, I'd like to propose something different for February. Nevertheless, describing one of your best friends might be a good idea for a future challenge. I'll keep that in mind. So, here we go:

FEBRUARY CHALLENGE

Try to find a Russian song that appeals to you, translate it, and learn its lyrics by heart! If you're a total newbie, you may go for a very easy song, skip the translation, and memorize one stanza only. More advanced learners, please try to memorize an entire song and translate it in any case!

As soon as you have learned the lyrics, post them in this thread, preferably with a link to the song, so we can listen to it. Make sure to include your translation!

Have fun!
