Hi!
I've just joined, and this is my first posting.
Could someone kindly direct me to a thread/forum here which addresses issues connected with teaching languages in a classroom setting? As both a lover of foreign languages and a teacher of English, I have become more and more conscious of the ineffectiveness of much classroom-based language teaching. I would love to be part of a discussion with fellow language teachers of how our experiences as language learners can influence our methodologies in the classroom.

Classrooms teaching is not the most common theme here, although a number of members are teachers (while others have been frustrated by their language education in school and occasionally may write less than kind things about it). One thread which has been active relatively recently is Teaching Languages at School: Strategies?. A more pessimistic thread: Foreign languages in (Anglophone) schools
