The textbook is great mainly because it has a transcript of the acted scenes. The workbook
is useless without the audio exercise files. I don't remember what's been updated in the new
edition of the textbook, but the main content won't change much since the video hasn't
changed. I do think there are a few new audio exercises per lesson, which the publishers
allow you to download for free (but I can't remember the source, sorry).

The new textbook includes Marie Laure's diary and some more modern shots from the video (better angles).
There is some new vocabulary so the student can refer to a portable, etc.

Yes, if I remember rightly there's been changes to the reading documents to modernize
them and refer to newer technology and modes of communication etc

Thank you for your answers..
I think I'll just watch the video then. I got the transcript and if I like the program and want to
get to know what's in the book/workbook I think about whether buying it makes sense :)

If you can get the audio files (and they seem to be floating around the internet, which
is annoying as I bought them on ebay) you can do most of the exercises without the
workbooks. But be warned, FIA takes a long time to do, it is realistically a 1-2 year
course.

Elexi, you should be proud of yourself that you obtained them legally. I've seen it on eBay, but the audio was on a memory stick, so clearly not the "legitimate" version of the audio.
