Hello everyone,
I usually practice speaking Spanish through italki.com a few times a week for 30 minutes and this
does help a lot. But I think I would improve a lot more if I had a social circle of Spanish speakers or
maybe not friends but if I could find an organization or some place to go to once a week where I
could speak Spanish on a regular basis with native speakers that would help quite a bit.
Do any of you have good tips or advice on how to find native speakers to befriend?
BTW I live in Chicago which has a big Spanish speaking population so you would think this would be
easy lol but I just don't know how to go about this.
Thank you!

Try going to a meetup (not necessarily a Spanish one). There are very few Spanish speakers where I live and I've gotten to know quite a few from the meetup quite well.
Or, if you are single, try going out on a date with a Spanish speaker and see what happens. That works really well for a guy I know.

I suggest you ty posting on www.forum.language-
learners.org as you might get a few more answers.
Of course this site is still in use but due to
various technical issues an alternative forum was
set up and is a lot more active than this one.
