Hi everyone.
http://bisal.bbk.ac.uk/publications/volume3/pdf/article4pdf/
Here is a link to a short review and commentary I wrote on Polyglot: How I Learn
Languages, an excellent recent English language edition (2008) of Kato Lomb's
Igy tanulok nyelveket (1970). The English translation by Adam Szegi and Kornelia
DeKorne, edited by Scott Alkire, is freely available at www.tesl-ej.org.
Hope you find it interesting.
Kind regards,
Ron

I just read the (English translation of the) book a couple weeks ago and her story was really interesting but I don't really remember her providing any very specific details as to how she learned the languages she studied.

The book is quite specific in some cases. One of the things she did often was get hold of some novels, and a dictionary, and go over the novels with a fine-tooth comb, analysing everything in great detail, and writing plenty of notes in the margins.

I had a quick skim through it. Some helpful bits but a little discursive. I will probably take another look later.

I would love to know if there are any videos or audio of her. She mentions interviews a
few times in her book.
Incidentally, I felt that at some points she was too vague as well, but it seems she
utilized reading the most, and I felt that at least in that case she was clear enough to
explain how she read books.

I haven't read your commentary yet as I have been mesmerized reading the free PDF of
Kato's book you referenced. Thanks for posting that.
