Hello everybody! I was wondering if any of you knows if Phil Collins also speaks the languages he sings in. As far as I know he´s sung in English, Spanish, Italian, French and German (Tarzan Soundtrack). I don't know much about the man, but my cousin is the webmaster for the band Genesis and I can ask him if you really need to get that facts about that!
I have heard that it's possible to learn to sing a song without much knowledge of its language. My guess is that a musical artist could only benefit by knowing several languages. I can listen to foreign language songs and enjoy them, and get the words entirely wrong. But that happens in English, too! 1 person has voted this message useful | |

Sarah Brightman sings in Italian, French, Portuguese, Japanese, Latin, and several other languages. I don't know
how many (if any) of these languages she speaks, but her pronunciation sounds good and she usually sings a song in whichever language she feels will give it the right "feel". Occasionally she records a song in more than one language. 1 person has voted this message useful |
