Every once in a while I try to incorporate ChinesePod into my study routine, but I find the dialogs too short to use for say 30 minutes of listening practice. I'd rather listen to 6 Assimil lessons in a row than to a dozen or more disjointed ChinesePod lessons.
Or perhaps I am trying the wrong podcast?

another...

But wouldn't they be short 20 seconds or less dialogs? There would be no continuity...

Do you mean lessons or dialogs? For continuity, see what you think of CLO. The thing is a CLO lesson may not necessarily have an associated dialog. Each CLO level has 60 lessons but there may be say 40 dialogs because some of the lessons will cover grammar, proverbs or something else that they didn't work into a "regular dialog". The CLO lessons are free on their website. To get the complete transcripts, separate dialogs, etc, you'd have to "buy the level".

I meant dialogs. I downloaded a bunch of ChinesePod dialogs from newbie or beginner lessons, and each was extremely short, say like 10 seconds. So I never felt like I got into a flow when listening to them.
I'll check out CLO.

cslpod is nice in that one can download the entire years content for about $20. They
have lessons available for four years currently.

But Chinesepod is not intended to listen to only for the dialogues.
If you don't feel the need to listen to the entire podcast with the analysis then maybe you are aiming at too low a level. Have you tried the advanced material?

I like the lack of English. The price is definitely very nice too. I wish they had separate audio files with just the dialog or story.
