and the one about the roman invasion "Hispania".

Loved the first season of "Hispania". Can't wait for the second season.

There was another series a few years ago that also starred Roberto Enriquez - "Quart, El Hombre de Roma" - that I also really liked, but it only lasted one season.

I cannot understand much, however.
I like also Funny Funny, on KBS World.

My favourite programme is 'Law and Order' which is an American programme. In Wallonie all the programmes are in French (never the original language with the subtitles), but we've the possibility watch the Flemish, Dutch, German and British channels also. I watch it in English with the Dutch subtitles. I can understand about the half, but with the subtitles all.

I like to watch 'Law and Order' too. It has been on Finnish TV since 1991! It is one of the few American TV series I need to switch subtitiles on if I want to understand everything. They speak fast and with an accent (New York possibly?) so I regularly miss lines.

My favorite TV show (foreign or otherwise) is a telenovela from Spain called El Internado. I always watched it in Spanish without subtitles and generally understood everything, maybe missing a couple words per episode if anything. Unfortunately I just finished watching the last season of it this past week. :( However, I think it's a great show and would highly recommend it to anyone who speaks or is learning Spanish. In fact, I often say it's worth learning Spanish just to be able to watch this show. :)

Thank you so much for the tip! El Internado seems to be ideal for my Spanish learning purposes. I haven't been able to watch Spanish series without subtitles before but El Internado's pace is slow enough for me. I'm pretty amazed I miss so little. Not even Caro's (southern Spanish?) accent is too hard to understand after a while.

This site works for me (I'm in Finland) so I would think it works for you too.

That's interesting because I never noticed a New York accent on the show. In fact, from memory, I would say it's fairly neutral. I'll listen more carefully the next time it's on.

Ikebukuro West Gate Part, Japanese dorama series. Watched it with English subtitles. When I noticed that I picked up the swear words used in it, that was the moment when I decided I didn't only want to learn Japanese but rather would be able to.

I love the way the series is cut, the camera angles, the way colour is used. I like that the main character manages to look incredibly stupid throughout the entire series. (Later I learnt that that's just how Nagase looks like when he acts -or pretty much always-, but whatever.)
I loved the series so much that I don't even dare to watch it again out of fear that it might have lost its magic.
