I'm learning French and want to watch French movies. Can you recommend me some? They can be from all genres, from the 1990s to today. I've already seen Amelie. Merci :)

My favorite Frech film so far is Jeux d'enfants. I can also recommend Effroyables jardins but I warn you; it's a tearjerker!

My favorite is "Il y a longtemps que je t'aime" (usually listed as "I've loved you so long"), with Kristen Scott Thomas
(yes, she has a slight accent when she speaks French). It's a drama centered around family members -- not a lot of action but with a great story line that develops over time. 1 person has voted this message useful | |

Any of the film's in Kieslowski's "three colors" trilogy: Bleu, Blanc
(actually, I'd say most of this one is in Polish, but there is some French), and Rouge. Also The Diving Bell and the Butterfly. And if you like gore/horror check out Inside, Martyrs, and High Tension. There's also Irreversible, as well as Caché and Code Unknown (these two by Michael Haneke).
