Has anyone use the site learn-canadian-
french.language.101.com to learn French? I recently discovered the above mentioned website which also has a main site that teaches French from France. I was wondering if anyone has used this site and what they think of it. 3 persons have voted this message useful | |

If you are asking about language 101, I have used it for Spanish and French. I have not used the Canadian French so can not say too much about it. If you have any specific questions, just ask, I'll try to answer from my experience. For the languages I use, I have found the site to be very good and helpful for learning phrases and pronunciation. It is not good for learning grammar.
Also, language does matter. Though they work basically the same I found a couple of differences in the French and Spanish sites. Spanish tends to give partial sentences so you get the language in smaller chunks. French tends to give full sentences. Initially I moved along quicker in Spanish because of the smaller chunks, but I think the French helped me better to build my own sentences. I also found the French speaker to be quieter than the Spanish speaker. I adjust the volume 2-3 spots when switching between the languages. So you should probably try out the French Canadian before buying as I don't know which approach it uses (nor if it matters to you). 1 person has voted this message useful |
