France Culture is an amazing resource Tons of podcasts to choose from. My favorite is

I'll check out some of these; interesting and non-generic content in French really is

I didnt especially like O Positive, but while sampling a few, I came accross this (hour long) podcast of mongolian camel drivers' music with the bonus for language learners, that the intros between the songs etc. are in French and German. Now if that isn't cool, I don't know what is. The music is strangely hypnotic. I actually thought it was Scottish or Irish at first, which probably says something about my tone and language deafness, but I think there's something in it. There's also a short podcast from France Info Les Pourquoi. It's not strictly scientific but it answers various questions about general culture. You can listen to the show on the website and it's on iTunes as well.
