Hi!
I'm currently in the process of learning Estonian. So,
I'd just like to know, does anyone have any other
ideas for the usefulness of Estonian? Would it help
with employment? Is there fascinating literature?
There seem to be a lack of English articles on the
language.

It's not that useful unless you'll be dealing frequently with Estonians or living in Estonia (this applies to looking for work although knowing English and Russian well in addition to Estonian will almost certainly serve you even better professionally in Estonia).
To get an idea of some literature in the language, check out the links in the Estonian profile.

As a native Finnish speaker I'm not in the same situation but still I would have something to say.
"Usefulness" is created by one factor mostly;
Can you make use of knowing the language?
My Estonian teacher recommended Justin Petrone's My Estonia which apparently is an Anglophone's take on Estonia.
