Question on the verb آموختن does it mean to teach, or to learn?
آن مردرا میشناسم. بپسر من زبان فارسی میاموزد = that man I know. to my son the Persian language he teaches Correct? Or more to the point: how do you say to learn/to teach? Edited by Mulliman on 23 July 2014 at 8:52pm 1 person has voted this message useful | |

I learned یاد دادن as a child for "teaching" in any context.

In Dari it's درس دادن for ¨to teach¨ if I remember correctly. I´ve never seen that verb

I forgot that for learn I'd use یادگیری
درس دادن is correct too, but it sounds more formal like "teaching a lesson" or "giving a lecture". I'm not sure it could be used in a broader context. 1 person has voted this message useful |
