Newer versions of Anki don't store decks separately, you have to use export (CTRL+E) if you want to share a deck.

Thanks for your reply laughing chimp. I'm not sure exactly what you suggested relates to
my question; could you please explain how exporting irrationale's deck might help me in
categorising his cards?
I was thinking something along the lines of being able to mass tag certain sections of
his deck to split it into levels. For example, currently his deck has no tags but if
perhaps I could tag all of his Pimsleur 1 cards and the first few lessons of his FSI
then I would be able review cards pertinent to my level.

I think it was a response to someone who asked how to share decks, not to your post. I also started going through it but found everything mixed together. Unfortunately other than manually tagging the cards i'm not sure there's much else you can do.

Can you still find this deck on anki?
Can you set it on anki to show only the beginner ones first. Start easy and progress so to speak.
What other good decks are good for learning Mandarin?
I'm using Pimsleur, MT and Assimil but only at the lower lessons

Crush> unfortunately on this occasion it seems you are right, I don't think there's any
real systematic way to categorise cards that aren't already tagged..
JayR9> you can still find this deck on anki but what you could possibly use it for if you
aren't already at the same level as the creator is beyond me. See above.
I've been more or less making my own decks and it looks like I will keep doing that for
lack of better alternative. Good news is: I think to some extent, the card creation
process helps me get used to inputting and remembering the characters - not quite as good
as hand-writing but not bad either.

dhaubles> Thank you for your reply. I will try making them myself. Are there any tips on how to make good
cards and how to use anki better. I'm not very familiar with it and some of the ones I've installed don't look
that great. Quite small and no pictures.

JayR9> It might be a good idea to have a look at some of the Anki tutorial videos on
youtube. Additionally try the 'shared decks' on Anki for some inspiration.

dhaubles yeah thanks I will do and have a try at it.
Do you know any good sites where you can get audio from when you are making your own cards?
Words and phrases?
I have audacity but if there is easier ways or websites that you can get from too?
