This is what my five-year-old son exclaimed yesterday! He's been watching the Thundercats cartoons undubbed in the original English language for a while now.I have never taught him this phrase.I remember reading in another post, here in this forum I think, that a child learned German just by watching cartoons.Maybe learning another language is possible just by listening and watching after all.

Well, English is my mother tongue, but I've got no idea what your son is on about. But then, I don't watch enough cartoons :P (can one ever watch enough cartoons?)... He sounds like a smart boy. And it shows, learning can be fun :D

It's also because kids absorb languages like no other. Doing that wouldn't work for an adult without additional ways
to help them learn the language, but kids can learn a ton of languages in their childhood -- retention is what you
need to worry about. On a sidenote, I loved Thundercats when I was younger. I like your son already.

That is terribly, terribly cute. That kind of phrases is actually what I enjoy learning most in foreign languages. I'm just not that into practicality in general. x) I'm learning Japanese right now, so I get lots of excellent over-the-top drama from their particular breed of animation.
