I have limited exposure to the Arab Media world, so don't take my word for it, but Egypt seems to be the primary leader in this regard, at least for music and movies. I'm assuming soaps as well, but I'm not into those. My Arabic is mostly close to non existent, though. I like Egyptian movies well enough, especially the comedies. As for Arab literature, I've heard good things, but have no exposure.

I was just trying to figure out which language produces the most literature. I know that's a pretty impossible thing to figure out, but does anyone here have any idea? My google investigation left me with zero results, haha.

Oh also, regarding Arabic media, it seems like there are tons of dubbed animes! Also between Aljazeera and BBC Arabic, you've got pretty good world news coverage. It seems like there may be tons of literature out there, although perhaps not so well known outside of the Arab world...

I think it's impossible for someone to tell you what language has the best media as far as quality because that's a matter of taste, but as far as sheer AMOUNT of media, for example, when it comes to movies, going by what's available at Netflix.com, other than English, many movies are produced in French, Spanish, Japanese, and Hindi (Bollywood), and to a lesser extent, Mandarin, Cantonese, Italian and German. So with those languages you would at least have a lot to choose from. As far as literature, music, etc. I cannot say for sure. Try looking up statistics on yearly publications/ music sales per country.

I enjoy Korean media the most (mainly the music, dramas, and variety shows) and it

What about Korean media do you enjoy?

I know the question wasn't for me, but ...
Pretty idols in humiliating situations? (That's why many of my friends like Korean game shows, it seems.) CGs of giant heads on miniscule bodies and jumping back and forth between two positions? (So scary.)

But, honestly, what is it? I like Korean drama, every once in a while. Not so much the stories, but rather the way they're told. I like a certain kind of female lead; with strong survival skills but kind of emotionally frail. Or maybe ... pure. I like the way the accent is usually on the topics of 'people fighting against an adverse environment' and 'people fighting against themselves', and less on 'people fighting against other people' than I'm used to from American and German shows.
I also just looked at some samples and I noticed that in those, the Korean way of filming showed much more of the surroundings than the American did in similar settings. There was less focus on the individual, and more on the situation; which I seem to enjoy. If I find the time I'll look at cultural trends in cinematographic techniques some day, it seems to be interesting.

And then of course, the series are made for a Korean audience. I can relate to the experiences and values needed to understand some of the topics of such a tale, but have to work hard for most - if I get them at all.
This challenge alone makes things more worthwile for me. Oh, well; I like fiction.

And I really can't say which language I'd prefer for its media. In the ends I'd probably choose the symbolism of cave painings ...

There's a lot of eye candy in Korean media (either it be idols or actors/actresses.) Like Bao said, the way the stories are told are different from American media (though, just like everything else, Kdramas have their own cliches.)

The variety shows are great, too. I can't watch a reality TV show on American TV anymore because it's just people cussing at each other. I'd go back to high school if I wanted to sit through that crap.
