Hello! One of my Chinese friends asked me ways to learn English,he said that his classmates told him that watching more English movies and listening more English songs can improve English ,but after a period of time ,he felt no help ,so he is wondered whether that suggestion is right or not?

Try echoing the movie dialog...that is repeating the lines. And work to use the same intonations as the actor/actress. Echo entire scenes and don't just pick and choose sentences here and there. I think he will find that challenging.

You are on the right track. Remember that it is important to have studied and understood
the English grammar prior to watching TV. After that, all you need is time. I spent
several YEARS using this method, so it will not happen overnight!
