Hello all,
I've been studying Russian for about a year now and am by no means fluent. I have become interested in pursuing Ukrainian. I know that there are many good online resources of learning Ukrainian for fluent speakers of Russian but not much luck for English. Hi Red Mirror! Here are a couple of resources:
One Minute Ukrainian podcasts These are short, sweet, and useful. The only drawback is that it's all listening which can be frustrating if you want to see the words written down. 11 Free Lessons LiveMocha I like this site a lot because it puts you in contact with native speakers and they're all SO eager to help you! The website's Ukrainian is just so-so; the recordings are sometimes unclear and there are occasional mistakes, but I still think the site is worth checking out. Also, the Peace Corps has a thorough language kit that you can download from their website. Just do some searching for "Peace Corps, Ukraine". Good luck with doing Russian and Ukrainian at once! I've got a handle on Russian after a decade of study but now I'm living in Ukraine and sometimes Ukrainian seems crazy different from Russian. People claim they're similar enough but I don't know about that.... they're different enough to really make you sweat! So, удачи вам! :) 1 person has voted this message useful |
