WebCorp uses the web as a language corpus. And it is free, and works very, very well in 42 languages. It will search the web for a word of your choice and show many sentences with that word in them. You get as many "sample" usages of that word in context as you want.

Besides the main word to search for, you can specify one or more "filter" words that must be on the page where it finds your word. Helps you focus on a specific area or theme. Here is a sample of the output using "telescope" as the search word and "astronomy" as a filter word:

You can specify how many words or characters appear either side of your search word. The results are lined up, with your word in the centre and highlighted. It also gives the web page the sentences came from, and as such is a good general purpose search engine, and gets you to pages with lots of good text in your target language.

You can select the search engine that WebCorp uses, such as Bing or Google. There are other search parameters you can set, such as a specific web page.
