I've seen the Honda commercial with the Chinese speakers and it makes me laugh every time. Anyone know what dialect they're speaking?

I hadn't seen that ad before, but we had a similar real life experience when in europe. My dad's first language
was Italian and while it is relatively rusty and he struggles as he never uses it, we had been in europe for
almost 2 weeks at the time and he had gotten a heap of practice in. I was really disappointed though, because
he'd first try to speak English with people. At a post office in Rome the lady seemed all polite, but as she
walked away she said something to someone else working there in Italian. Dad's there listening, trying not to
laugh. She had said something about stupid tourists. When she came back dad continued to try and post our
stuff, but this time used Italian. The look on the lady's face was priceless! Apparently similar things had
happened throughout the trip, and dad was just loving it!

Sounds like standard northern Mandarin to me. I don't think anyone considers it to be a dialect, but I suppose it's
just semantics.

Or this, illustrating that not the entire world speaks English (oder Deutsch).
Do you speak English
