I remember about a year ago I read that Assimil was planning to release a Hebrew and a Yiddish course in English this year.
Neither of these have materialised yet, so I was wondering if anyone had any news on the status of these courses and whether or not they have been cancelled?

I spoke with an Assimil representative and she said that Hebrew for English speakers would be released at the beginning of 2014.
It used to be late 2013, but I guess it just wasn't ready. Since I use the 10,000 sentences approach, I'm dying to get my hands on this.
I don't know about the Yiddish, but if I was a betting man I would say 2014 as well.

SnowManR1: There's a course with an Italian base for Hebrew, BTW. I saw it in a bookstore in Italy last week. Check
out assimil.it.

Hebrew would be cool. I'd definitely buy an Assimil of that. Is it based off of the most
current French-based course? If so, anyone who has experience with that one, I'd be glad
to have you chime in with some thoughts!

The dialogues in Assimil L'Hébreu are funny as hell, some are excellent, but I don't like
their transliteration of Hebrew (blame the French), and they really don't explain the
verb/roots system in enough detail.

I just received an email from Assimil, they said Hebrew and Yiddish will be published
April of 2014.

Has anyone heard why it has not been published yet?
