Thank you everyone for your advice and suggestions for resources!
I am pretty comfortable with the Cyrillic alphabet and I do have a pretty good idea what
the words should sound like, but I suppose it would be best practice pronunciation and
palatalization a bit more with audio before going on to written-only courses. As tempting
as it is to want to jump straight into reading and new vocabulary, I guess it will have
to wait.
I do really like the book I have mainly because of the grammar explanations, so I'll
probably revisit it once I can read without butchering every word. For now I'll stick to
the Princeton course and I'll also try some of the suggested courses; i'll definitely
check my library for Pimsleur.
