I'm genuinely blown away by this book, it's very well written and absolutely fascinating.
I've been experimenting with Anki to teach myself the IPA and I have to say, it works.
It's an amazing to now look at something which was previously gobbledygook, eg:

ɡɪv miː 'sʌm.ðɪŋ gʊd

And have it make perfect sense!
