I've never asked to be spoon fed anything, I
asked for some recommendations because I didn't know what look for, for Korean and the other languages I wanted to learn. I'm not learning all at once, I just wanted to be prepared for when I do learn them thoroughly. I wanted to know what you guys would say and what not. Thanks for taking your time to even acknowledge my thread, even though I probably asked what other people are asking. Okay, I'll explain: Your thread title implies that you didn't read the forum rules.
See, the second point in there is:
Of course, you may have read them, and paid attention, and decided that it was about the body of the message, not about a thread title. Which by itself would be ... interesting. And then, I did read the title, and I did read the OP, and my reaction was: Huh?! What is this person trying to say? That actually made me totally overread that you asked for "Korean through French" ... yup. Sorry. I didn't get that one. There's Assimil. And, well. Assimil. And, I guess, Assimil. I don't think I've seen a native French regular member learning Korean on this site. I personally only have material that has English, German or Japanese as a base language - English because it's abundant, German because, well, native language, and Japanese because it's stucturally similar enough and shares enough vocabulary to make learning easier. Oh, wait, I also have the Assimil course in French. But I don't really think of it as 'French base language', more as 'Assimil with some explanations that happen to be in French.' Moderate google-fu (apprendre le coréen) gives me a lot of beginner's courses online - some very basic, others quite interesting. KBS site: has different language versions A Kimiko who actually has over 100 lessons online And, 5 livres pour apprendre le Corée The results are interesting. Of course, one could have a look at East Asian studies in French universities and try to find out which book they are using. ETA: Oh wait, I should not post after more than 22 hours awake, when I think I suddenly understand things I didn't understand beforehand ... -cough- But I actually like these links, I'll keep them in here. I personally think it would be better to, because it communicates: I am here with a request for information and help, but I am willing to play by the rules you have in this group and I am trying to adjust to the mood and manner of communication you are used to.
This forum has a wealth of information and has many members who don't only have achieved quite impressive feats in their language learning but also are regular and very patient contributors. Some will even find the old threads or write new lengthy posts that summarize the important parts when asked a concrete question. (Okay, we also have a couple of posters whose posts sometimes verge on trolling, but I guess that always happens.) And it's kind of frustrating to be asked a question, but it is so vague that you have no idea how to respond to it, even though you want to. 3 persons have voted this message useful |
