I went into Foyle's bookshop in London to see if they had Barry Farber's book on learning foreign languages, or were in a position to order it for me. The assistant found it on her computer but told me it was "unavailable in Europe".
Is there any way of obtaining this book in the UK? I looked on Amazon but they only quoted dollar prices.

There seem to be a couple copies of it at ebay.co.uk right now, available via Buy It Now.

I hate to admit it, but randomly clicking on a link to that ebook several years ago caused me to start learning languages...and find this site!

AbeBooks never fails me (and it supports small business)

The above link is a search in the UK but you can always try other countries.

I actually discovered it the other way round. I found it on this site (long before the forum) as one of Francois' recommended books. Farber's enthusiasm for language learning is wonderfully infectious!

Marcus, I agree.
How to learn any language by Barry Farber is the only book I have read 4 times, and I am currently reading it again!
It is truely inspirational, if I ever burnout/start to burnout, I read his book, and it inspires me to do it again.

I don't know how much of the book is verifiable, but it is still a very good book to
read for motivation. Just learning a third of the languages Farber supposedly knows is
quite a feat.
