I find it somewhat amusing that people of European descent who speak an Asian language perfectly are regarded so impressively while people of Asian descent who speak European languages are regarded as fairly ordinary.

awesome video.....however, if they arrived in Korea when they were fairly child, the least they should do is learn the language properly through the years.....as I don't know any Korean, I feel it nice the way those girls communicate with locals.....

It depends on the European language. A Korean person speaking any of Hungarian, Basque or Latvian fluently could certainly impress a lot of people too.

I think those videos only show that people are not used to European/white looking people speaking an Asian language.
But in terms of linguistics they have zero value.
Let's say, in my country there are PLENTY of fully bilingual people and no one makes a big deal of it. It's just the reality we are used to.
One of my friends is actually fully trilingual - he speaks perfect Latvian, Russian and Ukrainian without any trace of foreign accent. And his English is pretty decent too.
I'd say I am almost fully bilingual(Latvian/Russian), so you can't impress me with bilingual cute girls who speak KOREAN. I also find them pretty but that's all about it. Sorry.

It probably has a lot to do with the fact that European cultures dominate the world, whereas Asian cultures are rather isolated. So...European things are the norm, and Asian things are unexpected and suprising.

I think what is more intriguing than a blond eastern-European speaking Korean is the fact that only blond eastern-Europeans are given fame and exposure in Korea. Sure, we have the good man John Frankl, but other than him I have personally rarely seen a non-eastern-European blond woman on Korean TV speaking Korean. Global Talk is the only real place to find the exceptions, but most of the girls (still no men) are blond, nonetheless.
I've seen three foreigners speaking very good Korean: a white guy, a black guy, and a (shock!) Russian woman. I've met a British mother of two sons who are growing up in Daegu and impress the life out of taxi drivers every day. Who do I think is the most impressive? They're all equal to me, though I may look up to them.

I have seen the video before actually.
The young girl's pronunciation is almost dead right on to my ears. There are some parts I didn't understand what she was saying but very impressive display.
