I find it hard! Pronunciation is a bitch and I don't have much love for the spelling either. But it is a love-hate relationship :).
Don't worry you're not alone.

I find many aspects of French difficult- especially speaking fluently, understanding at the rapid pace in which French people tend to speak. I also find that I can't make myself understood when I use words that have multiple 'R' sounds in them, as I find the rolled R very hard- I was telling my language exchange partner something beginnning with the phrase "Il regardera..." (he will look at...)and she found my accent so incomprehensible I had to write it down! And I think I'd managed 2 out of the 3 rolled Rs as well! It's very frustrating...
On the other hand I find the reading part much easier- and my level in this area is streets ahead of my listening and speaking abilities.

I think all languages would benefit from adopting a general Scottish pronunciation. Let's face it - it'd make life easier for everyone. Particularly me.

Does anyone else here find the French language to be hard. I have trouble pronouncing words and mixing them up with my Spanish pronouciation. |

Spanish is easier to pronounce, no doubt about it. Still, I tend to start speaking French when I'm supposed to speak Spanish. Dunno why. As for French, I think all the sounds are quite easy but by Jove I can't get the melody straight.

But French has a guttural R, not a rolled R!
