Strangely enough, I'm watching X-men in Spanish. Yeah. Of course you might want to look up script order for the show but it's fun to watch and it's long. I'm at the Dark Phoenix Saga and I'm starting to pick up alot. Then I've also watched Ed, Edd n Eddy in Spanish, which is somewhat easier to understand. The DVD s are on Amazon.

Useful link thanks.
Are you watching episodes as well, or just reading the scripts?

Yes, watching as well. About one episode per day. It's a great way to work on listening comprehension because they talk really fast. I've been using WordReference to look up slang :o)

I'll second the endorsement for "Les aventures de TinTin"- the french subtitles on the dvd match remarkably well to the actual spoken audio (as opposed to most films where the subtitles seem to be re-interpreted for brevity and can therefore be quite a bit different).

I finally got round to doing something with this resource last weekend and I'd been watching a couple of episodes of Season 1. By coincidence (and the real point of this post) I also found several different DVDs from the Simpsons Classics series available in a local store in the UK (Matalan). They're on Amazon UK as well:
Simpsons Classics
The important thing is that they have soundtracks (besides English) in French, German, Italian and Spanish and subtitles for all those languages as well. I've watched a couple in French and Spanish and the subtitles aren't bad at all - not 100% (and so not as accurate as the French scripts) but close enough to be useful in picking up the slang. I'm going to go back to see if there's any others I missed first time round.

Finland has taken a real shine to Donald Duck and closely associated characters (e.g. Huey, Dewey and Louie, Scrooge McDuck) over all other characters from Disney. One can still buy treasuries or large comic books of him (he's called "Aku Ankka" in Finnish) in Finnish bookstores. Garfield (translated as "Karvinen" in Finnish) is also quite popular.

I have mentioned it a few times on the forum but I suppose it would be a good idea to say
it again here. There are plenty of peppa pig shows on youtube in Italian. There are one
or two in polish and french as well I believe. Obviously there are some English ones
too.
I have been using these for ages to improve my comprehension and they seem to suit
someone who is anywhere between beginner and intermediate.
